So I’m just going to write a little bit on focus, the oomph in the gym.
So you’ve got the basics down to the T.
How do we really make them exercises go at a 100%?
I find it hard to explain to people how to focus.
I think it’s something you have to develop over the course of months/years whether it be in the gym or playing golf.
When you see someone with pure focus its an outstanding sight, no checking their mobile phone, chatting to a friend about how many drinks he/she had on the weekend, updating snap chat, NOTHING ELSE MATTERS in that situation they are totally divulged in the moment and visualizing the outcome of the lift.
They don’t doubt because mentally they have already succeeded, false confidence you may say?
I don’t think so, I think it’s really good practice and good focus.
Here are some tips on “focusing” in the gym.
- CLEAR YOUR MIND
- TAKE A DEEP BREATH
- SHUT OUT DISTRACTIONS
- VISUALISE THE TASK IN HAND BEFORE ATTEMPTING ( DONT OVERCOMPLICATE)
- PUT YOUR FAVOURITE MOTIVATIONAL PLAYLIST ON
- ENVISION SUCCESS
- HAVE A GAME PLAN BEFORE YOU STEP IN THE GYM
