Quick digestion tip.
Low stomach acid is quite a common situation. It affects digestion and the body’s ability to absorb nutrients.
A good way of combating this is to start your day with a glass of water with lime juice and sea salt.
Lime juice (lemon also) has a chemical makeup that helps facilitate gastric function. It not only improves acidity levels in the stomach but stimulates its production as well. Upon leaving the stomach, lime juice also triggers bile release. Sea salt acts as a companion to the process. It provides copious amounts of chloride which is integral to stomach acid production which will aid digestion and facilitate higher absorption of nutrients. Lime juice has also been shown to protect the liver.
Table salt just won’t cut it!
When it comes to salt, go for colored variety such as Himalayan. Colour is a sure fire sign of good mineral content such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, and potassium – essential electrolytes which aid salt absorption. Table salt, in contrast, offers zero mineral value and should be avoided.
All you need is:
one qtr Himalayan salt
a good squeeze of lime
a glass of water – preferably filtered from pollutants.
Give it a try – on waking each day.
