It’s a valid question – and one we personal trainers at Immortal take very seriously.
Many of the things we do day-to-day put pressure on our ability to maintain correct posture. Sitting for prolonged periods, working 9 to 5 desk jobs, being stooped over our computers, the daily drive, Facebooking and Whatsapping on our phones, even pooping can all lead to a set of forlorn looking rounded shoulders.
Perform too many pushing exercises while neglect pulling exercises for your back and you are inviting potential musculoskeletal imbalances and weaknesses. Anterior muscles (pecs and shoulders) become shortened and tight, causing posterior muscles to lengthen and weaken. This can compromise shoulder stability, pulling them forward, affecting mobility. Such imbalances will ultimately hinder your training, stifling progress. The older we get the worse these postural imbalances tend to be. Here at immortal postural analysis is something we take very seriously and is a key consideration when designing personal training programs for our clients.
As you exercise we observe your posture and how you move, addressing any areas requiring attention.
This is just one area we work on with our PT clients. If you’re considering personal training, please get in touch as we are offering a free PT session for anyone interested.
